Historically the concession road was used to define land that was slated to be developed. The roads, which ran in straight lines and in a grid enclosed approximately 1000 acres of land and were laid out 100 chains (1.25 miles) apart. As years passed and municipalties began numbering their own subdivisions the concession road lost its meaning. This concession may have belonged to the old units of measurement, when Simcoe County was first developed. I will leave that interpretation to you. Do note, however, the similarities between this and the concession to the south. And, if you're so inclined, maybe check your chain and measure 100 to that road.
