The container is a camo'd prescription bottle (sans the label, of course), 6" (length) x 2" (diameter). There is enough room for a log and few small items for trade. This is my first cache hide. I hope you like it. I had 13-foot WAAS accuracy when marking the coordinates, but the trees still bounce the signals around a bit. You may need to approach the cache from several directions. Once you get close, put your GPSr away and just use your eyes. I think it will help.
There is no very close parking to this cache. You could park on Vista Lane or on Wildwood Circle, then walk along 57th, but you'll have some steep terrain to contend with, and it's not real stealthy. When the trees are barren of leaves, stealth will be required because there are some nearby homes that look down upon this area. You can park near N43°30.231' W96°43.573', then walk in. You may be a little exposed at first, but as you approach the cache, the trees will hide you from the muggle habitats.
During the growing season, there is a lot of underbrush, itch weed, and probably ticks and mosquitoes. The ground is very soft and wet during the spring and after rain. There are game trails that take a higher, drier, but more circuitous route.
Included in The Squire of Gothos are six non-trackable but special items, each with similar but specific missions involving the six (SF) Color Trolls <owned by Geoboss>, currently roaming Sioux Falls. After reading the mission printed on the item, and if you are up to the task, feel free to take ONE of the items. If you take one, please fulfill its mission in as timely a manner as possible. The trolls will thank you for it.
To get credit as a find, you must sign the log book. Also, please remember to make a note on www.geocaching.com if you take one of the six special items. This will let others know how many are remaining in The Squire of Gothos.
