My first cache, dedicated to kids and to those who are kids at
heart. Hopefully we will never lose that sense of awe and adventure
that is an integral part of the fun of discovery.
I chose a location with kids in mind. Rotary Park at Lemoines
Point has a convenient parking lot, great play equipment, access to
the lake, washrooms nearby, open grassy fields, picnic area, and
many wooded trails. Some of the closer pathways are paved and
therefore wheelchair accessible. The park is family friendly, dog
friendly and free to enjoy. Bring your own food and drink. As I was
scouting out a hiding place I came across a family of white-tail
dear at the cache site. We stared at each other for a long while.
They only scampered off when I reached for my camera.
The cache is a medium sized plastic jar covered with duct tape.
It is filled exclusively with kid-related items. The cache is
hidden in the woods on the other side of the road only a short walk
from the playground and up a short incline. It can be found under
some big rocks. Of course adults should accompany young kids to the
cache site and maybe help them with their search. The cache should
not be difficult to find. For those interested in a greater
challenge or in racking up finds, there are other caches at
Lemoines Point Conservation Area.
Congratulations to BLUENOSERSTOO on the FTF!
