Saturday June 30th, 2007 11:00 am Columbia, SC.

UPDATE 7/5!

I assigned everyone a number based upon when they logged their "Attended" log. First to log was tands so they were #1 and so on. (#6, me, being left out) The wifey then picked 2 numbers out of her head.

So...the winners of the 2 SC coins are

Come join fellow cachers and water enthusiasts as we make our way down the Saluda River and into the Congaree River. We will meet at River Banks Zoo at 11am (Coords listed), say hi and have a safety briefing. The goal is to be in the water by 11:30am. The take out will be at the Rosewood Landing at N 33 57.893 W 081 02.166. The expected time to get down the river is 3-5 hours. If you've gotten the coordinates for Deliverance (GCN1BC), there will be a group stopping for that cache along the way. (Allow for extra time)

The Saluda & Congaree Rivers can be extremely dangerous and unpredictable. If the river is too high or weather is bad, the trip will be cancelled. I will try to give advance notice of this. As always, have your PFD on and don't take unnecessary risks. We will also be crossing over some rapids and for that reason I do not recommend bringing a canoe.

If you want to ride in the raft, please indicate that in a note so I will have an idea of what to plan for. If you have an extra kayak that someone can use, please indicate that as well.

I am also working on some return transportation back to the Zoo. So check back often. Email me with any questions!

Bring snacks (or lunch) and plenty of water or other drinks!
