A tranquil green retreat awaits you amidst the busyness of town and traffic.
The Austin Allen Barnett Prayer Garden is dedicated to the memory of Austin Allen Barnett, a four-year-old boy who left the world too soon. His grandparent's generous donations enabled the construction of this beautiful, peaceful place that provides a haven for hospital visitors or anyone seeking to sit quietly.
The garden is filled with inspirational quotes and bronze sculpture - surely you'll find one that appeals to you. Plan a visit during early spring when the roses are in bloom; they cover the garden in a riot of color and scent. A small playground sits to one side for those too young to need solitude and rest. For others, take a relaxing stroll along the winding pathway beside flowing waters, stop to ponder a quote, and then pause at the reflection pool.
The Prayer Garden is located on the east side of the hospital at Santa Fe and Anderson Streets. Park in the visitors parking lot.
