Geocache Description:

Many of you may be familiar with the saga of the U.S.S. Minnow. Thurston Howell's Treasure (GC12M3W) explained the disappearance of a large bar of copper that Thurston Howell smuggled onto the U.S.S. Minnow. This cache explains the mysterious disappearance of the U.S.S. Minnow from the uncharted desert isle...

Do you remember the U.S.S. Minnow? To refresh your memory, sing along with me…

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
a tale of a fateful trip.
That started from a tropic port,
aboard a tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailin' man,
the skipper brave and sure.
Five passengers set sail that day,
for a three hour tour, a three hour tour………
The weather started getting rough,
the tiny ship was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew,
the Minnow would be lost; the Minnow would be lost.
The ship took ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle,
with Gilligan, the Skipper too,
the Millionaire, and his Wife,
the Movie Star, the Professor and Mary Ann,
here on Gilligan's Isle.

The U.S.S. Minnow was the name of the tiny ship that left the tropic port and was later tossed onto an uncharted desert isle. Although the castaways were able to salvage materials from the Minnow, it disappeared from the island following the castaways rescue.

This cache will solve the mystery of the missing Minnow. Although this is a small cache, you will need to bring a pen.

When I was asking permission to place this cache, Bob from Hockessin Travel recounted the history of the pond. The pond was originally a kaolin quarry. The kaolin was originally removed by train but when the quarry became too steep, mules were used. The pond is about 95 feet deep and is fed by several springs. It is currently used for fishing, swimming, kayaking, geocaching and canoeing. Thanks Bob!

Congrats to wdcarvr+1 for another no-hint FTF!!
