Geocache Description:

Located just north of the bike trail that winds through Crystal Lake Campground and Picnic area - part of a strip of land between two popular lakes in the NHAL State Forest.

This is the fourth cache container; it has been stolen three times. (This is a high muggle area). Now, a camo-taped pill bottle with a log sheet. BYOP!!!

This area is significant to me in that 30+ years ago, I used to walk around the entire shoreline of Crystal Lake with my high school sweetie on a regular basis. Her mom would make tuna salad and Ritz crackers for us to take along.

30 years later, I ride my bike along the same roadway that connects the awesome Boulder Junction / Sayner / St. Germain bicycle trail. It's still a fun time! But, no tuna salad.

There's two pure sand beach areas and picnic spots here at this lake. Also, a beautiful campground surrounds not only Crystal, but the East shore of Big Muskellunge lake, which is just North of Crystal.

There are several other fine caches located with a short distance of this one, so why not make a day of it? In summer, make sure you bring your bike, or swimsuits, and pack a picnic lunch. I recommend tuna salad. ; )

Should be OK in the winter.

If you come by car, you'll need to pay an admission fee. Annual WI park sticker will get you in. You can drive to within 70' of the cache. You can bike or hike in from the highway on the bike trail for free.
