Geocache Description:

Dette er en lett cache dedikert til maleren Olaf Omland. Befinner seg på Vestøya - ikke langt fra Kirkehavn. Pass opp for muggles. This is an easy cache in honour of the painter Olaf Omland. The cache is situated on the western part of Hidra - not far from Kirkehavn. Be aware of muggles.

	Kunstneren Olav Omland ble født på Omland i 1909. Han døde i 1998. Han ble utdannet ved Hannos malerskole, Dams tegne-og malerskole og Kunstakademiet i Oslo. Han reiste på studieturer til Danmark, Italia, USA, Hellas og Spania. Han deltok på mange separatutstillinger og kollektivutstillinger. Han hadde også flere offentlige arbeid bak seg og fikk flere utmerkelser - bl. a. Flekkefjord bys kulturpris, 1983. Han ble æresmedlem i Flekkefjord Kunstforening i 1992. The artist Olav Omland was born in Omland in 1909. He died in 1998. He got his education at Hanno's Art School, Dam's Art Academy and the Norwegian Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo. He was on study tours to Denmark, USA, Italy, Greek and Spain. He had several separate exhibitions and participated at collective exhibitions. He also had several municipal work of arts and got distinctions - e.g. The Art Prize of the City of Flekkefjord in 1983. He became an honourable member of the Art Society of Flekkefjord in 1992. Galleriet har 33 faste bilder samt ny temautstilling for hver sesong.Galleriet er åpent hver søndag ettermiddag i skoleferien. Spesielle visninger med omviser blir gitt etter avtale. Hidra the most beautiful island on the southcoast of Norway. Hidra - Sørlandets perle.

Hidra is situated in Flekkefjord municipality. A ferry boat is connecting the island to the mainland.The trip takes only 5-6 min. Approximately 600 people live on the island. In the summertime, however, the population increases greatly.		Hidra ligger i Flekkefjord kommune. Det er fergeforbindelse med fastlandet. Turen tar bare 5-6 min. Det bor rundt 600 mennesker på øya. Men om sommeren øker tallet til det mangedobbelte.
