Fullerton Mill was a booming wood processing plant in the early 1900's and was the largest saw mill west of the Mississippi. In its heyday the mill cut & dressed 210,000 trees per year. The old town had a population of 4,000, a movie theater, cafe, post office, and barber shop. The Fullerton Mill cut it's last log on May 26, 1927.
Today it has been swallowed by the Louisiana vegetation. Only ruins now exist where a once thriving logging town existed. At the trailhead catch a glimpse of the town in its peak. Unrecognizable now, and even a little spooky, the overgrown trail takes you through some ancient looking ruins. Some of the trail is overgrown. Bug spray *IS* mandatory equipment!
Update 07/31/2001: After several comments from recent "finders," I've updated (de-updated?) the coordinates again to reflect those of the original hiders. For some reason, this area historically has "less than desirable" satellite coverage, so be prepared for a hunt!
It's out there, you just gotta find it!
