Geocache Description:

This traditional micro cache is located at Baker Creek State Park in McCormick County, in the Old 96 District Tourism Region, and is part of the South Carolina Heritage Corridor. This park closes during the winter season, from December 1st to the first week in March.

The park is located on Strom Thurmond Lake and has two 50 site campgrounds located along the shores of the lake. There is a .75 mile hiking trail, a 1 mile hiking trail and a 10 mile bike trail also available to hikers. The park also includes a boat ramp, plenty of picnic tables, as well as restroom facilities. A fee is required for entry into the park and although pets are welcomed, they must be kept on a leash.

This cache is a micro that contains a log sheet and very small trade items. The terrain to the cache is mostly flat, firm and is wheelchair accessible; the tree cover is moderate in the search area. Be aware of the possibility for snakes, spiders, wasps, ticks, mosquitoes and other creatures you expect to see in a lakeside wilderness area. Please cover the cache well when you’re through. Have fun and enjoy the View!
