Geocache Description:

Hike through a sugar bush

(This was originally one of a set of nine caches placed far apart for a FTF race.)

Little Cataraqui Conservation Area is located just out of Kingston, less than 2km north of Hwy 401 off Division Street. (aka Perth Road). Facilities include outdoor centre with education and recreation programs, hiking and cross-country ski trails, picnic areas, demonstration maple sugar bush, canoe and kayak rentals in summer, ski and snowshoe rentals in winter. Information and trail maps can be found at [http://www.cataraquiregion.on.ca/lands/littlecat.htm]. There is a small entrance fee. Rumour has it that locals have been known to utilize a back gate off Bur Brook Road somewhere around coordinates N44 18.012, W076 30.267 but I cannot attest to its veracity. The cache is found on the “Sugar Bush Loop” trail. GPS reception may be compromised due to the tree cover at the cache site. Look for the thickest Maple tree next to the #3 trail signpost. It’s one of those.
