Geocache Description:

A cache situated near the Kiln Bank road summit at a great viewpoint in a generally quiet and overlooked part of the Lake District.

The Kiln Bank road is a back road between Broughton Mills and the Duddon Valley and runs through the beautiful Dunnerdale Fells, an area of superb scenery. There is parking available at the road summit. The cache is situated within 2 minutes of the Park Head bridleway from the road summit which heads towards Caw and Seathwaite (follow it for even better views of the Duddon Valley). Recommended walks to the nearby fells of Caw, Stickle Pike and the Knott offer great walking, stunning views and other caches.

From the cache there is an excellent view of the central Duddon Valley and the surrounding fells including Harter Fell, Caw, Stickle Pike, the Whitfell range and there is a glimpse of Scafell, Bowfell and Esk Pike above the valley in the distance. On the other side of the fell there is a superb view towards the Duddon Estuary along the beautiful, small valley of Dunnerdale. A narrow grassy path leads from the bridleway to the cache area. The cache is a clippable tub with a couple of swaps. Please ensure it remains well hidden.

Happy hunting!
