Cabins at Monache is located in the Monache Meadows area. A nice area to fish, camp and easy off-roading, not far from the Kennedy Meadows. Must hike in, have a four-wheel drive, ATV, or dirt bike to access the area. Closed in winter months from snow (8000 feet)
There are several cabins in and around the Monache Meadows area, all of which are private and you must respect the owners wishes for you to leave them alone. These are the only cabins that are no longer privately owned. After a ninety-nine year lease they have reverted back to the ownership of the US Forest Service. In away it is a shame they are not being utilized and are just eventually going to waste away if not used and maintained. In their day it looked like the owners had some great pride in them and they are nestled away into a wonderful meadow with a great view.
You are looking for a cache stuffed with swag. A “Signal the Frog Jeep pin” in with the log for the person who claims the “First To Find”.
