A pleasant ride on the Yough River Trail, a peaceful place to take a rest, and just below two great caches: this is the making a nice traditional cache!
My wife and I enjoy biking the YRT in the Connellsville / Ohiopyle / Confluence area. On one of our last trips, I loaded the area caches onto the topo map in order to see if there were any new ones to hit on our trip. While I did not see any new ones, I noticed two of my favorites (Casparis and Elk Rock) were only a little over a mile apart as the crow flies. So I thought it might be fun to see what the YRT looks like right where that straight line would cross.
So when we stopped in the area in between the two caches, we found a nice little resting spot and scenic area to do some fishing. As there are two caches almost directly above you at each point, thought this would be a suitable spot for a new cache. “Two to Look Up To” was born!
Have a safe trip and I hope you enjoy the area! You can earn extra smileys if you start this cache hunt at either Casparis or Elk Rock and hike a semi straight line between the three caches! Come on! It would ONLY be a little over 2 miles round trip. Are you up for the challenge? There would be slight water hazard in order to do so…
