Riverton Roze Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

DrivingMeCrazy: Visited site today and the ammo can was right where it was supposed to be...but the log was a goner. This is the 2nd time gremlins have visited this cache so we are archiving it. Look for the ammo can in a new park near you! Thanks to all who found it!

Geocache Description:

This is a two stage multi located in Riverton Memorial Park. There
are some nice trails there maintained by the Riverton Environmental
Commission. The park is lined by tress, some dating back to the
1930’s, that are planted in memory of various people and marked.
Park hours are dawn to dusk and are strictly enforced

Coordinates take you to stage 1 (an electric-blue bison tube)where you will find the coordinates for stage two. Please close the container tightly so it stays dry.

***Following rain the area around stage 1 becomes very slippery***

After you find stage one take a minute and go a little farther down the trail. To your right at the end of the trail you will see 3 metal poles in the water. Just
beyond those poles is a family of beavers, which you can see if you approach quietly. At the time of the hide there is a baby.

Stage 2 is an ammo box chock full of goodies. (This was our prize at the Battleship Memorial event)

Park History: Riverton Memorial Park was purchased May 10, 1923 for the use of the citizens of Riverton.
Dedicated July 4, 1931 to the soldiers and sailors from this
borough who served their country in World War I.

Pennsylvania Railroad Train Shed History: circa 1882, The train shed was moved from it's original site at Cedar and Broad Streets in 1998 to the park.

Miscellaneous info: 12 acres of the park include 4 baseball
diamonds, a grandstand, 2 basketball courts, 4 hard-surfaced tennis courts, seesaws, swings, slides and other playground equipment. Picnic facilities are available with tables and benches and a fine grassy area.
