This is a very easy cache located in Riverside Cemetary on Seymore Hwy. It holds a notebook and small items. The Cemetery is open Sunrise - Sunset.
Original contents are: 1 wooden FTF coin, 1 coupon for a free lg. Domino's Pizza, American Pride TB, Buddy's Bowl TB, Spiderman "Just add water" Towel, flashlight keychain, Bon Bon Nail Polish. Riverside Cemetery is the oldest Cemetery in Wichita Falls. It was originally known as Wichita Cemetery. The first burial took place December 18, 1879. Many of the City's founding fathers and their families are buried in Riverside as well as a few infamous former citizens. Two "residents" are Billy Crawford and Elmer "Kid" Lewis. These 2 perpetuated a famous bank robbery in Wichita Falls. In Feb., 1896, the Texas rangers had been tipped off, and awaited the 2 outside the City National Bank, but Lewis and Crawford were one up on them. As the Rangers grew tired of waiting, the bank robbers lurked in the city. When the Rangers decided it was a false alarm and left, the 2 robbed the Bank. Killing a teller, their haul was only a little over 400 dollars. They were caught, and jailed, but the next day enraged towns people took them from the jail, and lynched them right outside the bank. They are both buried in a single grave. It's location is: 33 54.740N -098 30.448W . Jessie James' sister, Susan Parmer is also buried here, but I have not yet found her grave. There are many hand carved granite monuments and mausoleums that date back to the early 20th century that make for interesting viewing during a quiet walk among the stately trees and picturesque trails.
