This traditional cache was placed for the American Chestnut Land Trust Family Fun Day 2007. The Maryland Geocaching Society proudly supported the ACLT by hosting a children’s Geocaching game and exhibit booth. While visiting the ACLT, please take your time and enjoy this hidden treasure that is full of history and nature! The cache is park approved.
The cache is located within the safety zone non-hunting area but caution should be used during all hunting seasons. The American Chestnut Land Trust is within the Parkers Creek watershed and manages more than 2,500 acres. The ACLT is open to the public 365 days a year, free of charge, for environmental education, scientific research, and recreational hiking, birding, hunting, camping and canoeing. The ACLT encourages public use of its open space through many well-maintained trails.
**This property is used for hunting during deer firearm and turkey season. Please refer to the ACLT web site for current details; www.acltweb.org. A trail map with a description of the Double Oak Farm trails is available via the web site.
Parking for this cache is at the Double Oak Farm: Go 2 miles east on Dares Beach Road from the light on Route 2/4 in Prince Frederick. Turn right onto Double Oak Road and drive 1 mile. Turn left onto the lane across from open field, past house to designated parking. Trail maps and a sign in sheet is available at the parking lot. Please adhere to all ACLT rules.
