Geocache Description:

I’m not too sure how hard it will turn out to be, but I get the feeling I’ll be giving out a bit of help from time to time.

Well, I got my hands on another ammo can, so I decided to make another puzzle cache. This puzzle was originally intended to be used as a puzzle exchange between the Calgary Area Cachers and the Edmonton Cachers. Since I didn’t get any feedback on it, I decided to keep it as my own. This is my idea of tricky, and I hope it gives you a bit of grief, and then the wonderful feeling of AHA!

This puzzle is written in such a way that you have to solve one part to get to the next point, and so on. You could basically break it up into pieces, and be able to solve it just as easily. There are no hints as to how to solve it in the puzzle itself.

The first part of the puzzle will give you an answer, and then you will have to do a bit of research to find the answer to the next part. The hardest bit of the entire thing will be getting the first bit solved. After that, you just do a projection, and you’ve got the cache.

I hope you enjoy this puzzle, because I had lots of fun making it (and laughing at those who have to solve it). I have no problems with giving out hints – I can give small nudges or outright co-ordinates (but that would be no fun, would it?)

Well, I’ve talked enough, so here’s the puzzle:

Alberta is home to a 50 year old set of twins, very involved in the arts. Their father was the first to graduate from this institute. The original location of the institute projected the same number of decimetres as the original cost of the building, at an angle of 286 plus the number of years it stood, will give you the location of the cache.

And that’s the puzzle. I sincerely hope you enjoy racking your brain for an answer (hopefully anyways).

The co-ordinates given are the location of the nearest gate, which has now been sealed off. The next closest entrance is the pedestrian overpass to the west.

Be sure to e-mail me your results so I can give you the most accurate co-ordinates, as projections can give varying degrees of accuracy.
