This is a traditional cache located on the big island in Summersville Lake. The island is located about 3/4 of a mile from the Summersville Lake Marina.
You're definately going to need a boat of some kind to go after this cache (that is unless you own a helicopter, which you couldn't land on this island anyway!). There are several places on the lake from which you can launch a small boat, the closest of which is at the Marina. Other launch sites include the Salmon Run launch ramp and the Battle Run launch ramp. I have included waypoints for these locations.
Once on the island, be prepared for some light bushwacking. While there are no trails, the woods are fairly easy to get through. I do not recommend this cache for young children, as there are some very steep and rocky drop-offs, especially around the South Eastern end of the island.
Original contents include: Survivor Man DVD, glow sticks, disposable ponchos, foreign coins, survival compass/whistle, pin on compass, screw driver set, bungie cords, boat tool, gun lock, logbook and pen/pencil, plus some other pretty cool swag. There's also a pretty dang cool FTF prize. As always, please trade even or up.
Please note that unless you fancy climbing some very steep terrain, the best place to land your boat is on the North Western side of the island.
Please also note that while this cache will be availble during the winter, the hike to the cache will be quite a bit longer due to the fact that the lake will be at winter pool. During the winter, the best place to launch your boat will be from Salmon Run.
