Geocache Description:

This cache is the third in a series that I've placed along the historic Kettle Valley Railway. To get to this cache, from the Myra station parking lot, you will walk over 6 wooden trestles along the walls of Myra Canyon.

The Myra Canyon Trestles were built between 1912 and 1914 by the Canadian Pacific Railway and were a part of the Kettle Valley Railway line until they were decommissioned in 1973. In 1990 the rail line was purchased by the province of British Columbia and converted into a popular hiking and biking trail that draws 50,000 visitors each year and contributes about $5 million dollars to the local economy.

In 2003 16 of the 18 trestles were destroyed by wildfire, just seven months after they were declared a National Historic Site. The trestles have now been rebuilt.

The cache is a regular sized container hidden a short distance from the trail. Because the cache is hidden along the side of a canyon the coordinates may not be spot on, but they'll take you close to the cache, and you can use geosense from there.

The cache is in a very high muggle area, so please re-hide it as well, or better than you found it.

Please return cache to exact spot you found it.
