Parc national du Canada de la Mauricie


Vivez une douce aventure au coeur des Laurentides. Le parc national du Canada de la Mauricie vous convie à une rencontre intime avec les Laurentides, cette chaîne de montagnes qui longe la rive nord du fleuve Saint-Laurent. Ce territoire de 536 km2 dégage une grande sérénité, inspirée par la douceur de son relief. Dans ce vaste plateau ondulé de collines, entrecoupé de vallées et paré d'une multitude de lacs, la vie s'écoule au rythme de la nature. Seules les saisons viennent troubler le passage du temps en retouchant les moindres détails du paysage. Ce lieu de ressourcement invite à l'action autant qu'à la détente. Depuis sa création en 1970, le parc garantit à ce territoire généreux le respect de son intégrité. Il préserve ainsi un échantillon représentatif de la région la plus méridionale du Bouclier canadien. Bienvenue dans ce havre de paix !



LA FALAISE - aller-retour environ 3 km

Ce sentier débute en terrain boisé, plutôt plat, puis grimpe en haut des parois rocheuses. Plusieurs belvédères en surplomb offrent des points de vue sur le lac Wapizagonke, le ruisseau du Caribou, le terrain de pique-nique Shewenegan et les collines environnantes. Partez du stationnement Shewenegan et empruntez le sentier de raccordement des Cascades, ou utilisez le petit stationnement du Ruisseau-Brodeur, en bordure de la route Promenade. Parcs Canada a des règles strictes concernant le Geocaching. Premièrement, il n'y a aucun objet à échanger dans la cache. Vous ne pouvez placer d'objet non plus. Il n'y a qu'un carnet pour vous recenser, un crayon, un taille-crayon et un message éducatif. Espérant que vous aimerez.

La Mauricie National Park of Canada


Enjoy the Adventure of a Lifetime in the Heart of the Laurentians La Mauricie National Park invites you to a close encounter with the Laurentians, the chain of mountains flanking the northern shore of the St. Lawrence River. Covering an area of 536 km2, the park gives off an air of serenity throughout its gently contoured terrain. On this vast plateau of rolling hills intersected by valleys and dotted with myriads of lakes, life moves in perfect unison with nature. Here only the changes of the seasons mark the passage of time, retouching the landscape with subtle strokes and calling visitors with a promise of both activity and relaxation. Since its creation in 1970, the park has safeguarded the continuing integrity of this richly endowed land, protecting it as a representative sample of the southernmost part of the Canadian Shield. Welcome to this haven of peace! La Mauricie National Park, a conservation area that relies on your involvement!

LA FALAISE

This trail starts out in a fairly level forested area and then climbs upward ans along the top pf rock cliff faces. From there, a series of overhanging scenic lookouts offer stunning views embracing Lac Wapizagonke, Ruisseau du Caribou, the Shewenegan picnic area and the surrounding hills. Start out from the Shewenegan parking lot and follow the tie-in segment of Les Cascades trail, or use the small Ruisseau Brodeur parking lot along the Parkway. Medium difficulty.

Remember that Parks Canada have restricted guidelines, first, there is nothing to exchange in the cache and your are not allowed to put something in it. In the cache there is only a pencil, a pencil-sharpener and a educative message. Hope you will enjoy.
