Geocache Description:

Come on out and enjoy the newly made trails. Even though your GPS may show that this cache is relatively close, the trail is winding and if you make the complete loop, you will have hiked 1.7 miles. For those that have read this far, there is a small bonus cache within 15 feet of this cache. You may have to snoop around a little to find it. The first finder will be able to snag a geocoin to keep. Let me know in your online log if you found the bonus cache.

The cache container is an ammo can. The bonus cache is much smaller. If you cannot figure out where to begin your hike, grab a map from the mailbox and look to your left, towards the middle of the parking lot, and you'll see the trail head marker. You will find that this cache takes you to the far end of the park. There are NO TRESPASSING signs posted, so just stay on the path and all will be well. The cache is 80 feet off the trail. To avoid the poison ivy and briars, stick to the path until your GPS shows a 90 degree angle and registers around 80 feet. To find out about this park, follow this link Pleasant Valley Park. You will be able to find out when hunting season opens and closes. There is also a map located on the link above. A map will be helpful. Mountain biking, hiking and cross country skiing are all encouraged at this seldom used park. Send them an email and let them know how much you enjoyed the park - as it is, undeveloped - and encourage them to keep it that way. They are considering making changes. Take your time and enjoy the walk. This is kid friendly (but not stroller friendly) as long as you stay on the trails. There are shorter ways to get to this cache, but the trails make this a nice hike with plenty to see.
