Come Experience "The Fire of The Tomb"
This cache event is inspired by iTrax and
Foxtail, a husband/ wife geocaching team in San Diego,
CA.
Credit for the first Flashmob event in
South Carolina goes to gamecockfan1. We thought this was one of the
most unique event ideas we have seen in awhile, and it fit the
experience we wanted to achieve at this location.
A Flash Mob Gathering of Geocachers is only 15 minutes long! You
MUST be present and sign the log sheet DURING this time to claim
the event. Flash Mob Cache Event aka A Flash Cache Event. You're
heard of mega-events? This is quite the opposite in a variety of
ways. The event will last exactly 15 minutes, not one second
longer. The event will begin precisely at 9:00 PM on Friday, June
22nd. This event is going to be held at a rural location near a
recent cache placement, at night. At exactly 9:00pm (as determined
by your GPS clock) I, your host, will place a box for log sheets
nearby the coordinates. As you arrive, I'll hand you a "log sheet."
Participants will sign the log sheets (which will later become a
log book), to qualify for attendance drop them in a designated
collection box (at the coords). Bring a pen. I'll draw a name from
the box of log sheets to raffle off the FTF honors. When you
arrive, grab a name tag. At a designated time, we will take a group
photo. At a designated time, we will call out the raffle winners.
At exactly 9:15, the log sheets will be packed up and sealed away.
The event area will be vacated without a trace. Events that happen
after 9:15:01 do not count as part of THIS event. Only those
participants whose names appear on the log sheets may log the
event.
ITINERARY: 8:45 - 8:59 Participants: Enter the grassy field off
Durbin Church Road. You will be directed where to park. Wait
patiently in your automobile. At 8:59 exit your automobile and make
your way toward the event coordinates.
9:00 Simultaneously: The box for log sheets
will be placed near the Holy Grail. This is the signal that the
event has begun! Log sheets, name tags, and markers will be placed
next to the box.

drop them in the collection box

re-form after dispersal.)
9:15 EXACTLY Participants: Wait for it ...
then LEAVE the area (right at 9:15) and meet elsewhere if desired.
The log sheet box will be packed up (if you don't get it in time,
too bad, you can't log the event).
