Geocache Description:

An easy, fun, TB friend, three part cache (puzzle, micro, final).

A Tour Of Pop Culture

This has been updated. The first stage was muggled twice, so now I have made that first stage virtual.

The coordinates above are for the parking for this kid and dog friendly cache. About 1 mile round trip, easy walking except one small hill. No bush whacking until the very end, and that is minor. (Don't worry, tis but a scratch - I've had worse - No you haven't). Bug repellant is highly recommended.

In order to solve the multiple steps to this cache, you must first answer the questions on pop culture (old and new) listed below, then follow the directions.

Have no fear if your knowledge of pop culture does not span the questions. By looking at the clues, you can find web pages that will give you a tour of pop culture and provide all of the answers needed - and hopefully a laugh or two go along with it. You get more "pop points" if you know the answer without looking, but can still be hip if you just go to the web pages...

  • Let A be the number of tread mills used by the music group OK Go.
  • Let B be the number that a good electric guitar amp goes to.
  • Let C be the price of a five minute argument in pounds (at the clinic).
  • Let D be the number of policemen it takes to break up an argument at the clinic.
  • Let E be the number of $19.95 payments required to purchase an Easy Step.
  • Let F be the number of Mentos used in experiment #137.
  • Let G be position in the word of the singing letter that sings to Charlie the Unicorn.
  • Let H be the number of times per minute a European swallow has to beat its wings to maintain air speed velocity.
  • Let I be the number one counts when using the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioc (after pulling the Holy Pin.).
  • Let J be the number of people in the Brady Bunch (including Alice).
  • Let K be the number of ball bearings that fall into the engine block of the famous Rube Goldberg Honda Ad.
  • Let L be the order (number) of "The Twist" in the evolution of dance.
  • Let M = (F+L)/(H+H-B)
  • Let N be the number in Weird Al's Christmas Song.

Okay, after parking at Southwick Circle (drive slow, there are fast kids around):

  N 42° 33.931'
  W071° 28.338'

You can get the first (and only) waypoint by going to:

WAYPOINT
N 42° DI.JMG'
W071° LA.CCL'

Where you will find a large pipe covered with wood. Count the number of planks of wood (wide) across the top. Subtract this number from M, and call this new number (M - #panks) "P". Don't forget to take your letter to number decoders with you!

Now you can contine to the final cache at:

CACHE
N 42° IK.PLN'
W071° LA.KCD'
