There are several caches on the other trail (Timpooneke) going up
Timpanogos. There are also a couple down near the trail head of
this trail (Aspen Grove). But there are no caches of any distance
on this side. So I hid this cache on the Aspen Grove trail most the
way to the lake.
Many people say Aspen Grove is steeper but shorter than the
Timpooneke trail. I've done both several times with multiple GPSr
and from trailhead to summit I get right around 7 miles, either
way.
The last time I climbed Timpanogos from Aspen Grove was on July
4th. As we were coming down we came across the momma goat and her
baby. As I left the trail to get a good picture or two, and then
wandered around, I thought this would be a great spot for a
cache.
So today Labor Day, I hauled the ammo can up the trail and
placed it here...then we went on up to the top.
