Geocache Description:

You will be looking for a medium size clear L-n-L. The hide was not meant to be difficult but you will be working in heavy Hemlock cover. I took many average coordinates then averaged the average. Got love that Hemlock. There is absolutely no need to search outside the park boundaries. You will find the usual trading stuff including a golf ball and there is a FTF prize.

Hubbard Park is a small jewel of a dog friendly park in Montpelier. It is plowed in the winter to the parking coordinates and has numerous trails that are groomed for skiing in the winter. There are many nice places to enjoy a picnic throughout the park as you seek caches here. You are heading for and area known as the "seven fireplaces" It once was a very popular picnic area that you could drive to but night parties spoiled the fun, hence the posts in the road. I have been there many times with Molly and our other dog and have never been able to find "seven" fireplaces. How many can you count. Check out the park map to see all the trails and avoid some confusion if you are looking for other caches.

When you are leaving, to take an interesting way into downtown Montpelier, use the Cliff St. exit. Take a right at the "Y" (up hill) at approximately N 44 16.150 W 72 34.580. In the event that this a group search, be aware the no trucks or buses are allowed to use this exit. It's a tight squeeze even for a full size pick up but doable.
