Geocache Description:

Only suitable for clear days when the views are well worth the trek.
It is either
A) A lengthy walk along well defined tracks into quite desolate terrain,
or
B) A 1.75 mile walk across boggy land without any tracks to follow.

The cairn on the top of Trawsallt can provide spectalular views, but DO make sure you pick a clear day for this one.

ROUTE A)
The road from Ysbyty Ystwyth eventually becomes a track and then a grassy/muddy path, but it is very easily followed. It is possible to drive up to the start of the common which will knock about 2km off the walk.

Follow the road uphill from Ysbyty Ystwyth at SN 732714 until you reach a fork in the road. Take the right fork and walk on uphill until you reach the gate at SN 750712. Go through the gate and follow your GPSr towards the cache. The path splits in several places, and the cache is NOT located near the the cairn on the summit, so trust the technology to guide you!

ROUTE B
From the parking waypoint, walk North East until you see the leat on the hill in front of you. There is a boggy bit to cross before you reach the leat which follows the contour to the small clapper bridge. Cross the stream and continue following the western side of the valley. Pause for a rest at the little stone shelf before going uphill and crossing a fence on the ridge. Follow the ridge until you come to a track that takes you close to the cache. Afterwards go on up to the summit for the views.
