GYW Sackville High Communication Tech Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cache-tech: Greetings from Geocaching.com

I have had no contact with the cache owner since my last note and there has been no notes posted to the cache page in that time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache.
When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to have it reposted, it will be no problem. Just drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link (Mine) across the top and then click on this cache.

I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
Cache-tech

Geocache Description:

Created by the students in Communication Tech classes at Sackville High, this cache is located near First Lake, and contains pins and other goodies designed by the students themselves. The Cache is part of the “GeoCache Your Watershed” project in cooperation with Environment Canada.

This cache was created by the students of Sackville High School in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. This cache is a continuation of the school’s First Lake Project, (visit link)

which was a cross-curricular project studying the watershed where our school is located. This year classes have taken on the new task of GeoCaching while studying First Lake further. Classes involved include French Immersion Biology 11, Art 12, Geography 10, and Communications Technology 10 and 12. It is part of a pilot project, "Geocache Your Watershed", being conducted by four schools across Canada. Through this initiative, High School Students will learn about their watershed and experience their own outdoor discovery of its unique features.

This particular cache was developed by students in the Communication Technology classes at Sackville High. The cache contains a series of buttons designed and fabricated by the students. Each of the buttons revolves around a common theme of the watershed which the cache is hidden in. Also available in the cache, is a 'Flat Pack' kingfisher toy template, which can be assembled and kept. This toy template was designed by a student as well.
