Yorkville Geo-walk #2: Hazeldean Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

hikingdi: HI there,

Seems like the cache had a good run but is muggled.

I am not in the area as much as I used to be so it's harder for me to keep maintaining my caches.

So if anyone wished to adopt the cache or the location it's up for grabs!

Many thanks to all who enjoyed visiting.

Geocache Description:

Stop 2 on a compact tour of Yorkville and its past

The general area where you find the cache was once a fairly large estate owned by Chief Justice William Draper, who came to Upper Canada in 1820.
He rose in the ranks to become Chief Justice by 1863.
Take time to read more about Draper on the descriptive panel at the corner of Hazeldean Park.
Don't forget to first visit Memories of Severn Creek Park, the now-official start point of this geo-tour. Use the same parking hints for that cache.
Can you imagine there was a creek flowing where you now see cars heading down Rosedale Valley Road toward Bayview Avenue?
Can you also imagine that there was a bridge crossing the creek to connect Hazeldean with its then-neighbour estate Rosedale?
Even if you live in Toronto I bet you will learn at least 1 thing you never knew before!
The cache is an economy-size vitamin bottle camod with black tape but the lid is green.
Please cover it well when you replace it.

ElectroQTed has reported coords at N 43° 40.378 W 079° 23.045, give these a whack and let me know if they continue to be closer. I seem to find the summer canopy has presented me with less precise coords captures than for caches I placed in the spring.
