Welcome to our geocaching version of The
Amazing Race. This puzzle cache is based on the popular CBS
television show. Teams must provide their own means of
transportation and GPS unit. Camera crew is optional.
Be sure your team is properly equipped on the race by bringing
along a pencil and paper to record important information you will
find along the way.
Please note that some
information must be copied EXACTLY as it appears on the clue,
including capitalization of lettering....
To begin, teams must make their way to the starting point for this
leg of the race. Once there, they must enter the building and
search for the highest number among an assortment of numbers
displayed there. Once teams have found the required number, they
must now figure out the location of the first cluebox using the
following equation:
N 53 18.878 - (subtract) Number
W 60 20.460 + (add) Number
Detour
A Detour is a choice between two tasks. On the surface, one may
seem easy but involves some sort of twist; the other may seem
difficult but in the end may be the quicker choice. Each has its
own pros and cons, and each will lead you to the next step in the
Amazing Race.
Roadblock
A Roadblock is a task which one member of the Team is required to
complete in order to receive the next clue. In this version of the
Race, all members of the Team are free to help complete the task.
There is no Fast Forward on this leg of the Amazing Race.
Allow yourselves 2-3 hours to complete this cache as you will be
traveling approximately 50 miles (80 kms) total, as well as
collecting clues along the way to the final pitstop of the race.
