Geocache Description:

From the last available parking spot it is .34 miles straight shot to the cache. However that means up 3 hills and down 4 to get there and then up 4 hills and down 3 to get back. That is bushwacking through briars and bushes and clambering over large rocks.

This is a camouflaged peanut butter container underneath a large rock that is bolder than the smaller rocks around it. The cache is in plain sight if you walk up on the correct side of the bold rock.

If you bushwack straight to the cache you will come in on the wrong side of the rock. If you hike across to the pipeline and come in from that direction then you will have come in from the correct side.

Another option is to rent a canoe and float down from Alabama Small boats. However you will probably need to be prepared to spend the night at the cache and then canoe on down to the next take out the next day. We were able to get to the cache site on mountain bikes so that is probably the best way to take on this one.

The cache is located on a Wildlife Management Area but is in an area where you should not run into any hunters during hunting season between the beginning of October and the end of January. You do not need a hunting license or a WMA license but it wouldn't hurt to have the WMA map. You can download it at (visit link) Just print out both pages and have those with you. It suggests you have read it and know the rules and you know you are in the WMA. The other suggestion would be to wear a blaze orange vest during hunting season.

To the right is a bookmark list of all of the other caches on the Cahaba River Wildlife Management Area. Have fun going after them.

This cache was put together by my mom and was initially placed in Thomasville, AL. However it was too close to a railroad and didn't get published. So the next time I was there visiting I grabbed it to hide up here. I finally got the chance. The cache as hid contained the following items:
Cassette of "The Best of Randy Travis"
Business Card Holder
Sunglasses
Magnifying Glass
Little Lamb
Cell Phone Holder
Room Perfume
Fishing Sinkers
Lock & Keys
Rubber Ball

Congrats to gubbool on the FTF!
