Geocache Description:

Moderately hilly with clearly defined trails most of the way and easy parking. A simple single cache that is easy to pick up and examine.

There are new coordinates for this cache. The new location is N 42 33.130 and W71 47.899. This is about 100 feet or less from the original coordinates.

This cache was originally hidden on June 6, 2007. The current placement is the third placement of this cache. It has been moved twice due to construction and subsequently due to being lost for an unknown reason.

Offering superb water views, this cache is hidden almost in plain sight. Not a day at the beach by any means and surrounded high and low by the life giving elixir. We are proud to bring you this cache.
The cache is located on City of Leominster water department property. Parking is available at coordinates 42 33.099 North and 71 47.623 West. Most of the walking to get to the cache is via defined jeep trails and marked hiking trails with a moderately steep uphill climb. Look for a solid medium blue circle painted on trees that define the trail area at the upper end of this hike. The area is legally accesible and hiking is encouraged in the area with a nice parking lot capable of holding 10 to 12 cars which is easily accessible from Leominster streets.
To best access the cache stay on the marked trail which is basically the gravel road / jeep trail all the way. The cache is located right after you pass the large" body of water" that you will skirt around about half a mile after leaving the car.
Wildlife is abundant in the area though you will most likely encounter annoying insects more than any other wildlife. Chipmunks and squirrels are plentiful, along with other small animals and of course birds.. I doubt you will encounter any larger “game” due to the relative frequency of human treavel through here as well as the traffic noise from nearby route 2, … but …. You never know!
It is likely that you will encounter at the most one or two other people or groups of hikers on this trail, all going in one direction or the other and not bothering you. Muggles should not be a problem.
The cache is located a short distance off the trail with a clear, even spectacular, view of the water. The forest here is vibrant with significant underbrush of mountain laurel, brambles, and fallen trees. Be careful of large boulders and rocks that are not firmly anchored in the soil. Also be aware of the "landscaping mesh" that was laid down in the trail and cache area to retain soil after the latest round of construction. We don't need anyone catching a toe or heel or even a finger in this nylon mesh and being injured.
The cache consists of a log book with pen and pencil and several trinkets for those so inclined.
The cache container is a 2 quart heavy duty Tupperware style container with screw on and off lid. It is watertight as long as you screw the lid back on the base securely. This cache is an excellent family outing as you don’t have to venture into the woods and risk tick contact. Children will do very well on this hike. Our goal is for the cache to be found by every single geocacher and also to be at least a moderate challenge.
The cache is located at elevation 641 feet above sea level.
Have fun finding this, enjoy your hike, and take advantage of the spectacular water view!
