This cache has been archived.

KiwiChris: Too many waypoints are missing, so will release all the sites and the final to the caching community. Thanks for all the feedback, and hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did setting it up.

Geocache Description:

A multi-level themed cache to test your wits.

The theme implicit in the title (what do you mean, you haven't got it yet?) is continued throughout the series of waypoints and refers not only to the hidey-holes, but also to the nature of the puzzles themselves.

The first level consists of 6 film containers. The first is at the coordinates above, the rest are listed below. Each of these will contain a simple puzzle to solve. The number of letters in the answer will then be used to assign values to the letters 'A' .. 'L', so that you can proceed to the second part of the cache. As an example, the question could be: 'Which city is this cache set in?' , which means that Z would equal 7, the number of letters in 'Dunedin'. (NOTE: This question does not resemble any real question, it is merely given to show how it all works.)

Putting all of these together (or guessing some of them if you feel that way inclined ) will enable you to find two more micros at:

S45° 51.ABC E170° 29.DEF
and S45° 51.GHI E170° 29.JKL.

Each of these will contain one of the coordinates of the final cache.

Note that all the first 8 caches are hidden in some part of the built environment, i.e. they are inside, under, behind, or on top of something made of concrete, metal, wood, or stone. No greenery is involved, although it may be around. The final cache is a medium sized sealed container hidden at ground level. It is located on a playground and is invisible to prying eyes, although its location should be obvious to geocacher's eyes. Please be careful to replace all containers, and particularly the cache itself, exactly where and how you found them.

There is a substantial prize for the FTF, plus lots of removable goodies, as well as the usual trading items. Given that the puzzles are all designed to appeal especially to children, the swaps in the cache were similarly selected.

It is possible to do the whole thing on foot, although it will take some time (and probably introduce you to a whole lot of new paths). Bike would be good -- I can get around all 9 waypoints in about 2 hours.
