Geocache Description:

This cache is located along the AVR multi use trail. Do not try to access this cache from the road as you will have to cross private property. This is from the trail only.

There little evidence of the active place that this once way in days gone by. You can see the remains of the main road that once pass this way as well as the old rail station that is now part of a home. There is also the Munson Cemetery that not longer has road access. It is about 75 yards south on the edge of the field. It tells a very sad tale of a rural farming community sickness in the spring of 1862. The siding once had a number of farms, houses and potato houses. The cache has been placed along the Aroostook Valley Railroad, which had been change to a multi use recreational trail. Access to the cache is from the trail on foot, by bike or ATV, please do not cross private lands to access the cache. Once you have found the cache please return it to its resting spot for others. Enjoy the trails system and the bridge over the Aroostook River.
