Hawkhaven: Too bad. Someone lit this populat cache on fire and put it back into its hiding place. Will look for a less pronounced spot in the future.

This cache is located in a small patch of the Alafia River State Park on a back water of the South Prong of the Alafia River. It was placed with the permission of the acting Park manager and geocachers are reminded that the area beyond the gold gate is state park, but not open to the public. The park is open 8AM to sunset.
Also, this is a popular fishing area and great stealth may be required. You are looking for a small lock down Tupperware container. Besides the log and a pencil, there are small sticker buttons for children. While this is not a long walk, you may need to use your geosense to find the cache.
The South Prong joins with the North Prong in Alderman’s Ford County park to form the Alafia River. The state park is part of a chain of green spaces to protect a large part of the river’s drainage basin.
