A nice hike with some excellent views as you near this ammo container cache.
This cache was the target of the puzzle cache, Milpitas War Picic (GCP46H). The trail is marked closed in the winter because it's pretty dicey if wet, so the cache was temporarily disabled, then I never got around to checking it, and it got archived. Went out today and the cache is in fine shape, so this is a new cache without the puzzle (which was poorly received anyway). The cache is an ammo can with lots of swag. It is just off the little used Los Coches Ridge Trail in Ed Levin County Park. Watch out for the horses and their, ahem, remainders.
It's a mile or so of reasonable climb on a well used horse/hiking trail. You're rewarded with a nice view of the Bay.
This is a case where a park map can help plan the hike. There is a $6 fee for parking in Ed Levin Park.
Even if you logged Milpitas War Picnic, the fact that you get to do a good hike to this one means you can log it again. A tip of the Geocaching Cap to EScooby who was in on the original placement.
