This park was named in memory of Guyte P. McCord, recognized as the founder of Tallahassee’s commission-manager form of government, was appointed Clerk of the Supreme Court of Florida in 1939, a position he held until his retirement in 1964. Prior to this appointment, McCord served as mayor of Tallahassee, U.S. Commissioner for the Northern District of Florida, Deputy Clerk of the U.S. District Court, City Attorney and Leon County’s first prosecuting attorney. He attended Florida State University before receiving his law degree at Washington and Lee University, and was a past president of the Tallahassee Bar Association.
This is a nice little park with lots of beautiful plants and trees. This park has benches, trails, picnic tables and a small pond on about 21.2 acres.
Most caches hidden by Tallahassee Parks and Recreation have a five or six digit code, either on the log book or on the cache itself. Record the code for a chance to earn a Parks and Recreation GeoCion. After you have collected 40 codes, email them in alphabetical order by cache name to this owner. We will confirm the codes and arrange to get your numbered geocoin to you.
Way to go Tyler of qanine for FTF. Show them old timmers how it is done.
PLEASE NOTE: Parks are open from sunrise to sunset
