Brynawel - Nine Mile Point Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

steve4pont: Time to put this one to bed.

The local kids seem to know it's there and keep pinching it.

Thanks to all who found it.

Geocache Description:

Easy terrain along pathway

This cache is located in the area known as Nine Mile Point.
This place derives it’s name from the railway marker post which showed that it was nine miles from Newport Docks. This was from the time when all this area was a coal mine and this part of the valley was criss-crossed with railway bridges to transport the coal from the mines to the Newport Docks for export.
Parking for this cache can be found at N51° 36.828 W003° 10.334. There is now a new refurbished footpath running along the river and it is now a pleasant walk along the valley down to Brynawel and onto Wattsville. The walk should take about 20 minutes each way.
Initial cache contents include marbles, felt animals, a Geocoin and other usual cache swag. This is a small cache container, so it cannot accommodate larger travel bugs.
