Located near the intersection of Forest Roads 31 and 3113.
The Summit Guard Station is just a mile west up the 3113. The guard station is still used in the summer, while the "bunkhouse" on the compound is available on the Recreation Rental program. At one time there was also a tree platform "crow's nest" lookout tower that fire guards would climb for a look around. I decided to place this cache here rather than at Summit so as not to interfere with any cabin renters or firefighters.
You're seeking a camo-painted lock-n-lock plastic container. It has a logbook, writing instruments and trade items.
Take Exit 243 from I-84 13 miles to the cache. Good gravel road Spring to Fall. The route is open to snowmobiles in the winter but finding that time of year could prove interesting.
