Geocache Description:

Please join us for a day at the Cedars campsite at Selden Island State Park. The Cedars campsite is just under a 1 mile paddle on the CT river from the Hadlyme Ferry landing on RT 148. The ferry operates from 10:30 to 5:00 on weekends. The nearest bridge across the CT river is in East Haddam near the Goodspeed Opera House.

There will be a ride to the island available, on request, for those that do not paddle.

This brings you to Selden Cove which then becomes Selden Creek. It also has many inlets to explore and abundant wildlife to see. This area has many caches inland and on the waters edge. Cedars campsite is reserved from noon on the 28th until noon the next day.

Knowing when the tides are is important here. High tide will be at approximately 11AM and low tide around 5PM. Due to this timetable there will be a potluck meal around 5PM. More details on that to follow.

There will be a full moon paddle around 8PM, more details to follow.

This is a primitive campsite which allows up to 20 people to stay over night. The island is only accessable by boat. If you are interested in staying overnight, please contact Juliebeans ASAP, spaces will be be first come first served. There is a $4 per person fee if you are staying overnight, which the DEP charges. There is no fee for non-campers.
