SEVEN SEVEN OH SEVEN
Christmas. New Year’s Eve. Spring break. There are certain dates on
the calendar when travelers know that hotel rooms in prime vacation
spots will be nearly impossible to come by, even if they try to
book months in advance.
This year, add another day to the list: Saturday, July 7,
2007.
That’s because that date — the almost numerically perfect 7/7/07
— is being sought after by couples around the country as the ideal
day for a wedding. More than 31,000 couples have already signed up
with theknot.com, a wedding-planning Web site, saying they plan to
marry that day, a figure that is roughly triple the number for any
other Saturday that month — and nearly 20,000 more than the number
of couples who got married on the corresponding weekend a year
earlier.
And it isn’t only prospective spouses who think that the 7-7-7
combination could be lucky for them. The travel site Vegas.com said
its hotel reservations for the weekend starting on Friday, July 6,
are about six times greater than those for the previous weekend.
“We’ve never seen anything like this,” said Bryan Allison, vice
president of marketing for Vegas.com. “We were all shocked.”
So, for those of us who aren't getting married, are tired from
the festivities of the 4th of July, and are just hanging around,
looking for something to do, well....
ITS TIME TO COME FIND
THE "SEVEN SEVEN OH SEVEN" CACHE!!!
ITS YOUR LUCKY DAY!!
This is the VERY FIRST hide of
The4Syms!
You will find a trail head with ample parking at N 42°
13.865 W 072° 21.761.
The Trail Head is clearly
marked!
7 has been MamaSyms’ favorite and lucky number since The Yaz
played for the Boston Red Sox, so we waited until this date to
release our first cache, and we hope you enjoy our first cache as
much as we enjoyed putting it together. You are looking for a LARGE
50 cal. camo'd ammo box hidden in true Geostyle. Please respect the
posted signs along the trail. The trail is public but there are
some private properties that border it on both sides. It is
maintained by The Snowmobile Association of Mass and is used by
hikers, bicyclists, and snowmobiles but no motorized wheeled
vehicles are allowed. The walk to the cache is just under a mile.
Please rehide the cache just as you found it, as the trails are
used by muggles often!
The FTF shall receive 7 (I REPEAT... SEVEN....)
$7.00 gift cards to Dicks Sporting Goods, totaling $49.00 in
goodies from Dicks! Don't even ask me about the funny look I got
from the cashier when I had her ring up seven $7.00 gift cards. I
just had to do it. You shall also find in your goodie bag a
"special" #1 Congratulations ribbon, along with an
unactivated Generic Geocoin!
To load up the cache I've tossed in a watch, pedometer, mini-FM
radio, golfball and tee set, bungee cords, dog toy, numerous kids
toys, flashlight, fan, Geocaching swag, and numerous odds and ends
to stock up and make our first hide a memorable one! And after a
rethink...this is where our family travel bugs begin their trips!
You'll find Marge, Homer, Bart, and Lisa of "The4Syms-Sins" inside,
waiting for someone to get them headed to their separate dream
destinations.
Hope you enjoy the hike,
the scenery, and the cache!!
GRATS to CLAN DELANEY ON THE FTF HONORS!!
YIPPPEE!!!
