Geocache Description:

Chemiluminescence, or better known as Box #3 was one of the caches used for the Blue Marsh GeoEvent. The fourteen boxes hidden for this event contained equipment (fire starters, signal mirrors, whistles, ect.), or information needed for survival in the wilderness.

Chemiluminescence is the emission of light through a chemical reaction. A glowstick or lightstick is a transparent plastic tube which contains chemical substances capable to produce light which does not require an electrical power source.

This cache (Box #3), the largest box used for the event contains Glowsticks.

Hikers should carry glowsticks in case they get caught out at night to signal help. glowsticks are an exellent source of light. They weigh less than a typical flashlight and can be hung for greater visibilty. Glowsticks are the perfect safety lighting device for hikers. Glowsticks are waterproof, do not use batteries, and are inexpensive and disposable.

Rescuers can use mini glowsticks as a trail to find their way back. Larger glowsticks can be used to mark pickup points / landing zones for helicopters or other aircraft. Different colored glowsticks can be used to mark higher priority subjects.

The contents of this cache is glowsticks. Please try to keep the contents of this cache relative to chemiluminescence, or things that glow in the dark.

Please rehide exactly as you found it. You looked hard, don't make it easier for the next cacher.
