Don’t let the micro container scare you. This cache is very easy to
find. The hint is very powerful hint but you won’t need it.
The easy directions to this cache are to follow Highway 85 north
from Lusk 13.2 miles. Turn east on Hat Creek Road. Travel 2 miles
on Hat Creek Road. This road is a well maintained gravel road. I
have traveled this road in a Toyota Camry several times without
problems. Rain makes the road less dusty but does not impede
travel. For a scenic return trip follow Stage Road south. It will
take you past Fort Hat Creek, another cache location and important
piece of county history. It then winds through the beautiful Hat
Creek Breaks. The trip through the “breaks” is only recommended in
a high profile vehicle. I have taken the Camry to Fort Hat Creek
but not past. This is an old school building. It is now Hat Creek
Club House. A quick survey of the “old timers” gives anecdotal
evidence that it hasn’t been a school for over 40 years. It is
still equipped with state of the art 18th century plumbing; notice
the matching his and her bathrooms out back and the water supply
hand pump.
