This cache takes us back to the days of one of Scotland’s most notorious pirates, Bumfluff otherwise known as Naebeard. The cache is a traditional pirate lock n’ lock container containing all the booty from his exploits. Please try and continue the pirate theme with your swaps. The position above is where Bumfluff landed and NOT where the cache is located. Use you map and drawing skills or mid lat / plain sailing calculations to find Bumfluff's booty!
By special request from Hubblegardner the solution is now in the spoiler!In those far of distant days of the 20th century there lived a pirate called Bumfluff. Bumfluff plied his trade on the unsuspecting weekend sailors who were brave enough to venture out onto the shark infested waters of the Forth. On one infamous raid, Bumfluff attacked their stronghold at the well protected Port Edgar. During this raid, Bumfluff escaped with a mighty haul of goodies stowed in a plastic box. This raid turned out to be Bumfluff’s downfall as the authorities put all their efforts into putting this notorious pirate out of business that he was driven out of the area for his own safety.As with all pirates, Bumfluff hid his booty before disappearing. The location of his ill gotten wares was never discovered, that was, until recently. I was walking down by the shore with the dog one day when a bottle washed up by my feet. Inside the bottle looked like a note. On closer inspection I found that it contained a map, not any old map but, the key to Bumfluffs booty.The map gives the position where Bumfluff landed then instructions on how to find his booty; unfortunately, being a sailor himself, the instructions are all in nautical distances, the directions are ‘true’. Me being a landlubber, I find this impossible to work out. For this reason I wish to share the booty with those who can find it. A copy of the map can be found in the gallery – remember to print it off!Oh, one word of caution, Bumfluff has not been seen in this area for many years, but just in case, watch your back!
