This is located slightly off of a wide dirt walking trail which was constructed as an Eagle Scout project in 2006 at the Mt. St. Francis Retreat Center.
Originally, this cache was placed on 6 Mile Island in the middle of the Ohio River. I learned after placement that the Island was a nature preserve and therefore had to journey back out and retrieve it. I didn't want to change the name - superstition I guess...
These trails and the entire facility is a neat escape from the city life. There was already one geocache here which has been around a while. This area can hold lots more and I suspect it will fill up fast. Hike all the trails and have a great time. There is lots to see.
The cache itself is an Ammo Box with some boating related swag. Hey, it was gonna be on an Island, remember?
Take some and leave some. There is a FTF prize of a $10 gift coin from Highland Cleaners.
I have also placed one of the new red Jeep TB's in this cache. I always believed the Jeep TB's are best left in somewhat remote caches and this one seemed to fit the bill. There is a green one there as well.
