Alibags: I came along to check up on this cache today, but I could not find it. The undergrowth is a bit too thick and wild. It may well have fallen down into the nettles, but if so I don't think I will find it before Autumn when everything dies back. More worryingly, the fence has been broken down a bit. I hope this was muggles and not cachers, but I think it's best to archive this one. I will be along later in the year to see if I can retrieve my cache.

Geocache Description:

The Grand Union Canal links Birmingham to London with a waterway which is 145 miles long and contains 166 locks. This cache is one of a series to be found along or close to the Hertfordshire/Buckinghamshire stretch of the canal.

Leaving Berkhamstead behind, this canal pound is very quiet and thankfully is less muggled (although you may be unlucky and see lots of anglers!). There are views to the North of the chalk escarpment on top of which Northchurch Common sits. Whilst setting the cache I saw a couple of kingfishers. You are looking for a cammoed black cylinder. Please replace it so that it is as well hidden as possible.
