Geocache Description:

Camp Bonaparte is a boy scout camp located at the north end of Bonaparte Lake in the Okanogan Highlands. However, you don’t have to be a boy scout to enjoy the lake. There is a very nice forest service campground at the south end of the lake, and a small resort on the eastern shore.

This cache is themed for scouts and campers, and is placed near a nice fishing spot within sight of the scout camp. In the summer, you can hear the scouts shouting and singing songs in the evenings as they perform silly skits with their fellow campers. Due to that strange trick of physics that makes sound carry over water, you can hear it all, regardless of the location of your campsite or picnic site.

Don’t let this discourage you though, from enjoying this beautiful spot. Boy Scouts are not the only wildlife at Bonaparte Lake. The loons will lull you to sleep at night and the bald eagles will put on a terrific show if you toss them a few of your day’s catch.

Like the others around the lake, this one can be reached by land or water.
