Fairly steep climb - 1000 ft elevation change over about 1.2 Miles NOTE: The CACHE IS NOT in Camp PMI - we named it for the campsite we were at when we placed it.
Dear Scouts, I placed this Cache at Camp Goshen about six years ago - before the Geocaching Merit badge existed. At that time, I tried to get the camp to own the cache, but they were not interested as they were unfamiliar with Geocaching. I see that the log is full and I live about four hours away- if someone could do me a favor and replace it, I would be much appreciative - and if you could mail me the log, I will pay for shipping. My son is now finishing his Eagle and we placed this cache when he was a Bear. I am sure I will be at Goshen with my younger son sometime in the next few years, but we do need to get the Log replaced. Thanks, CJ This Cache was placed by Pack 146 of Centreville VA on our trip to Camp PMI at the Goshen Scout Reservation. It was named for the extended family we have found in scouts, and it is our hope that other scouters find it on their visit. The view is breathtaking, so bring cameras and binoculars. If you can, take a group picture and post it to the log. Log contains the standard fair of things, with a slight scout bent For scout groups leaving from Goshen, the trailhead is at N 37.57.966 W 079.36.616. For other Geocachers, the Viewing Rock trail is reachable via the Round Knob Trail , Andersen Trail, and Jump Rock Trail - all of which intersect with the viewing rock trail. Note - it appears that some visitors to the Rock are dragging it out and leaving it in the open - if you find it in the open, please return it to the location specified by the coordinates and hide it.
