A little verse entitled - "The Joys of Caching"

Seek a cache with GPS
Very hard to find it now
In a hedge or in a tree
Right inside that hollow bough?

And it’s hard to reach the spot
Very nearly way too high
Yet you strive to get it down
So it would help if you could fly

Vexed beyond the final straw
Irate until you just see red
Round and round the spot you go
Should have stayed at home in bed!

Baffled, on you go regardless
Huffing up that great big hill
Excited, just in case you might be
Speediest cacher to the kill

Very often you don’t make it
In the recess of your mind
Runs the thought you might be fastest
But you’re never first to find

Anger takes a hold upon you
Rage develops like a fog
Another one has got there ‘fore you
Victory is in his log

Another day another cache hunt
Rambling down a country lane
Birds are singing very sweetly
Just the mud is still the same

Round the barbed wire, just be careful
And the rickety old bridge
Very hard the nettles sting you
Yes, you’re bitten by a midge

Mind you shut the gate behind you
Really close it when you’re past
Else the cows will vanish outward
Blooming things can move quite fast

So you go about your caching
Venture into shady wood
Instantly, you lose your signal
Reacquire it, I wish I could

Father leads the family onwards
Very soon he’s on his own
Kiddies interest is exhausted
Round about him, hear them moan

Very often you get lucky
There’s a really sunny day
Unless of course it’s British Summer
Grey skies chase the blue away

So you dress with loads of layers
Battle on through wind and rain
Here’s a turn-up, now the sun’s out
Extra soon, you’ll sweat again

Marching onward, through the torrent
Rain soaked clothing starts to rub
Exhausted now are all the batteries
Blast it all, where’s that pub?

Owner's comment added 31/7/07
From the logs so far, it seems that everybody is approaching the cache from the most obvious direction.
Be warned! This path can be full of nettles and does flood after heavy rain.
Why not try a different way to approach the cache after you have solved the puzzle?
