This cache is located along the Cedar River Greenbelt trail, South East of Mitchell. Park at the drive in access on Hickorey Avenue, a mile South of Mitchell.
This 4.0 mile trail parallels the Cedar River from one mile west of Osage,Iowa to the town of Mitchell, Iowa. It is open to biking, hiking and horseback riders. It includes wooded hills, limestone cliffs, and riverside solitude for nature lovers of all sorts. Stop for a picnic along the way at the small shelter house halfway between the trail or throw in a fishing line and try your luck at landing a big one. There are four access locations available. No motorized vehicles allowed.
